Cultivating Minds & Hearts Together
At St. Paul Lutheran School we strive to provide a personalized and Christ-centered education that develops the whole child. Classes are structured in a way that meet students where they are, and allows our their creative minds to expand. Subjects are brought into real-world situations, teaching the students to solve real-world problems. Our teachers engage each student at their individual level through hands-on and interactive lessons. Students’ participation in physical education, the arts, and community outreach provides a well-rounded educational experience.
We are able to provide higher standards in every subject due to the one on one attention. Our average student to teacher ratio is 13:1.
Classes begin at 8:00 am and dismiss at 3:30 pm. Our academic calendar very closely emulates those of our surrounding districts of 453 Leavenworth, 207 Fort Leavenworth, and 469 Lansing. You can download our calendar for the school year on our Family page.
Kindergarten
St. Paul Lutheran School feels it’s an honor to instruct and guide our little learners, setting the stage for a deeper love of learning. Our program is built around key academic areas: listening skills, auditory discrimination, visual discrimination, simple math concepts, alphabet recognition, short and long vowel sound recognition, letter blending, and reading words and sentences. We also strive to foster positive emotional, social, physical, and spiritual growth. These building blocks are designed to help students succeed in academics and life.
Students are exposed to a wide variety of topics with opportunities for hands-on learning throughout the year. Exposure to various skills stimulates learning and creates a desire to learn even more, setting the stage for the coming educational years. In addition to classroom learning, students have the opportunity to participate in concerts, special presentations, holiday activities, and field trips. Off-campus field trips typically include the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, KC Zoo, Kaleidoscope/ Wonderscope, and Legoland. On-campus activities typically include holiday activities, a fire truck visit, a Sagasu presentation, and several guest speakers throughout the year.
We understand the importance of schedules and consistency, and the delicate balance this can be for families. Our early education and kindergarten program runs 8:00 am – 3:30 pm and follows the same academic calendar as our elementary and middle school programs. Our academic calendar very closely emulates those of our surrounding districts of 453 Leavenworth, 207 Fort Leavenworth, and 469 Lansing. You can download our calendar for the school year on our Families page.
